Ingredients

  • 1 pack puff pastry, thawed
  • 3 pears
  • 1 egg yolk, whisked
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F or 180°C.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a flat surface. Cut the pears into two pieces and remove the seeded cores. Put each pear half flat on the dough and trace the outside of the pear with a knife, leaving 1/2 inch of dough around.
  3. Remove the pears from the dough for now. Also lay out parchment paper on a baking sheet and place the dough cutouts on the paper.
  4. Cut out small leaves and stems from the dough separately. Connect the doughy stems and leaves to the top of the pear outline.
  5. Cut slits into the pears. Drizzle the lemon juice and honey over the pears, placing the pears back over the dough cutouts afterward.
  6. Brush the dough around the pears with egg wash. Place the baking sheet with dough and pears into the preheated oven for 10 minutes, or until the pastries are a golden color.
  7. Take the baking sheet out of the oven and let it cool. Sprinkle the powdered sugar over the pastries and serve.
